1. Application publisher
The MamaCheck application is published by Quentin ORIOL, domiciled in Brignais, France. For any question or request relating to these terms, you may contact us at: contact@mama-check.com2. Purpose of the application
The application allows users, in particular, to:- Scan food products using a barcode
- Search for or add products manually
- Obtain an assessment based on pregnancy-related precaution criteria
3. Personal data
MamaCheck may collect the following data, strictly necessary for the operation of the application:- Internal technical identifier, automatically generated to ensure the operation of the application without creating a visible account
- First name, if voluntarily provided
- Estimated pregnancy due date, if voluntarily provided
- Product photos, if voluntarily added by the user
- Photos used for OCR, if voluntarily sent by the user to automatically extract product information
- Data extracted by OCR, such as the product name, ingredients, nutritional information or other information visible on the packaging
- Technical metadata associated with images, if present and retained
Automated processing
MamaCheck uses certain automated processing operations, including artificial intelligence and OCR technologies, to analyze product ingredients, automatically extract information from packaging and offer an assessment adapted to pregnancy. These analyses are carried out based on predefined criteria relating to ingredients, nutritional information and dietary precautions during pregnancy. They are intended solely to support users in their food choices. No personal or medical decision is made automatically on behalf of the user.

MamaCheck offers the following features:- Scanning food products using a barcode
- Manual product search
- Analysis system for ingredients, nutritional information and pregnancy-related precaution criteria
- Automatic extraction of product information from images using OCR or artificial intelligence processing
- Modification of product records by users to complete the database
- Collaborative addition of product photos by users
5. Subscription and payments
MamaCheck offers free access for 48 hours from the first scan, with full access to the features. At the end of this period, the user has 3 free scans according to an individual re-crediting mechanism after 7 days: each scan used is credited back individually 7 days after its use. A scan means either scanning a product by barcode or displaying the detailed analysis of a product following a text search. Each detailed display via a scan or text search consumes one scan. Subscribed users benefit from unlimited scans, as well as the ability to modify product information and request a new analysis. 6. Limitation of liability
MamaCheck provides dietary advice based on public and recognized sources, but is not a medical application and does not constitute medical advice under any circumstances. The user is solely responsible for their dietary and health decisions made on the basis of the information provided. In case of doubt, allergy, intolerance, medical condition, particular situation or pregnancy-related question, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional. The recommendations and assessments offered by MamaCheck are based on French medical recommendations and regulations relating to pregnancy. This information may differ from medical practices or standards in force in other countries. Use of the application outside France is under the user’s responsibility, and the user is invited to refer to local recommendations or consult a healthcare professional in their country. Automatic analyses, including those performed by OCR or artificial intelligence, may contain errors, omissions or incomplete interpretations, particularly when the image is blurry, incomplete, poorly lit or ambiguous. The user must verify important information directly on the product packaging before making any dietary decision.7. Intellectual property
All content specific to the MamaCheck application, including texts, logos, interfaces and algorithms, is the exclusive property of the publisher. Any reproduction, modification or distribution without prior authorization is strictly prohibited.
Some product information, including product photos, comes from Open Food Facts and is available under the ODbL 1.0 license for data, and under Creative Commons licenses (CC-BY or CC-BY-SA) for images. Image credits belong to their respective authors.
8. Community contributions and photos
Users may contribute to enriching the MamaCheck database, including by adding or modifying product information and adding product photos.Photos sent only for an OCR or automatic information extraction feature are not considered community contributions, unless the user explicitly chooses to add them as product photos in the MamaCheck database.
By adding a photo or any other contribution, the user guarantees that they have the necessary rights to the submitted content and that it does not infringe third-party rights, including copyright, image rights, privacy or trademark rights.
The user undertakes not to transmit unlawful, misleading, offensive or inappropriate content, or content containing identifiable personal data such as a face, address, personal document or any other element enabling a person to be identified without their consent.
By adding a product photo or a contribution, the user grants MamaCheck a non-exclusive, free, worldwide license valid for the entire legal protection period of the content, allowing MamaCheck to store, reproduce, adapt, display, use and exploit this content as part of the operation, improvement and enrichment of the MamaCheck product database.
MamaCheck reserves the right to modify, refuse, hide or delete any contribution deemed inaccurate, inappropriate, unlawful, non-compliant with these terms or infringing third-party rights.
